Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Every person has his own thoughts, images, beliefs and attitudes. These can be positive or negative. Yet they are distinct and have strong influence on a person’s behaviour, reactions and emotional problems.

More importantly on the patient’s addiction and pre and post indulgence behaviour. CBT is much like wiping the slate clean and starting afresh with new cognitive processes that lead the addict further and farther from his craving.

CBT works by changing or rather aligning people’s attitudes and their behavior by focusing on the person’s cognitive processes. And thereby bringing about the required change in the person’s behaviour.

At Zorba, CBT runs through the entire stay of a client. Clients attend one or more sessions per week, each session lasting approximately 50 minutes. During this time, the client and therapist work together to understand what the problems are and develop new strategies for tackling them.

CBT hand holds patients through a set of principles that they can apply whenever they need to through their lifetime.

Depending on the client’s requirement CBT can be an amalgamation of psychotherapy and behavioral therapy. As we said, we customise treatment to the specific needs and personality of each client.
